Getting started as a parent
ForGuests
This page is written for guests, , so it isn't in the guide you're viewing. It's fine to read on.
Membership gives your child fresh questions made by AI, checked before anyone sees them, on top of the ones built into the game. You manage it from the parent dashboard.
Become a member
Section titled “Become a member”For now, membership is by access code. With your code, create your account and choose I’m a parent or carer. Your membership includes one child.
The parent dashboard
Section titled “The parent dashboard”Go to /parent/, or in the game open ☰ → 🏡 Parent dashboard, and sign in with your email and password.
- Home: your children at a glance: when they last played and how many questions they’ve answered.
- Your children: each child’s details, the chat helper switch, a new login card, unlock, download and delete.
- Add a child: see below.
- Emails: turn the newsletter and offers on or off. This saves straight away.
- Account: your email, when you joined, how many children your membership includes, change your password, and download all your children’s data as one file.
Each child’s page also says if they might need help with a subject: under 50% right after at least 10 answers in it (the same rule their teacher would use). Fuller reports on what your child is good at, what needs practice and how long they’ve played are coming soon.
Add your child
Section titled “Add your child”- Open Add a child.
- Enter the name your child sees (a first name or nickname is enough), pick an avatar and their grade.
- Tick the confirmation that you’re their parent or carer, and tap Add child.
- Their login card appears: a QR code, a card code and 3 pictures. Print it now: the code and pictures can’t be shown again.
Your child signs in by scanning the card in the game (or typing its code) and tapping their 3 pictures, in order. See Signing in with your card.
To let them play straight away on the device you’re using, tap ▶ Play now on this device. That signs you out of the dashboard here, because the dashboard and the game share one sign-in.
Progress they made as a guest
Section titled “Progress they made as a guest”If your child has been playing on this device without an account, the first time they sign in the game asks whether to keep that progress for them or start fresh.
Looking after their account
Section titled “Looking after their account”All from Your children:
- Chat helper: off until you turn it on. It answers questions about the game and the riddle they’re on, without giving answers away.
- New login card: if a card is lost. The old card stops working, and your child is signed out everywhere.
- Unlock pictures: after 5 wrong tries, the pictures lock for 5 minutes; unlock lets them try again now.
- Download data: their details and saved progress, as a file.
- Delete: removes their account and all their progress straight away. You type their name to confirm; it can’t be undone.
Your membership includes one child. To add another, contact us.
Emails
Section titled “Emails”We don’t send emails yet. The newsletter and offers box on the sign-up form starts ticked; you can untick it there, or turn either off later under Emails.
Forgotten password
Section titled “Forgotten password”Use the recovery code you saved at sign-up: in the game, tap Sign in → Forgot password?. See Signing in and out.
