The ecosystem game
This page is written for guests, players with an account, students, teachers, so it isn't in the guide you're viewing. It's fine to read on.
The ecosystem game turns your riddle rewards into a living habitat.
Your goal
Section titled “Your goal”Grow an empty patch of land into a thriving Sanctuary, the last of 7 levels. You move up by building a balanced ecosystem, not just a big one: every species you place has to survive together, at the same time.
| Level | Name |
|---|---|
| 1 | Sprout |
| 2 | Seedling |
| 3 | Sapling |
| 4 | Grove |
| 5 | Canopy |
| 6 | Meadow |
| 7 | Sanctuary |
Each new level is harder than the last: the same plant feeds fewer animals, and you need more kinds of species.
Placing species
Section titled “Placing species”Drag or tap species from your collection into the habitat, then press Start Sim.
Keeping it stable
Section titled “Keeping it stable”- Plants feed herbivores, herbivores feed predators, and decomposers break down whatever dies.
- Every species has a sustainable range: a population the habitat can keep feeding.
- A level is won when every species stays inside its range for enough cycles in a row.

Decomposers, such as earthworms and fungi, keep the soil healthy by breaking down what dies.
Starting again
Section titled “Starting again”Reset in the habitat starts the ecosystem game over: level, species and simulation. It asks first. Your riddle progress and badges aren’t touched.
